Inquiry:

How satisfied was God with creation? God said “it was good” after each of his labours and rests on the seventh day, evidently, very satisfied.
However, God has to fix up his creation as he goes, and he would certainly not be very satisfied with the disobedience of that primordial couple. (funny thing that an omniscient god would forget things)
Is there a contradiction?
Response:
Indeed, the Scriptures teach that God was satisifed with His creation. At the end of each day, it is said “…it was good.” After the sixth day of creation, when all things had been completed, we are told, “…God saw every thing that He had made, and behold, it was very good.”
Regarding God having to “…fix up his creation as he goes…”, I refer the questioner to last week’s article. The questioner is correct, God was not satisfied nor did He consider the disobedience of Adam and Eve to be good. However, He created man as a free moral agent, able to choose to obey or disobey. He knew evil could result. What is it that He supposedly forgot? God’s omniscience is illustrated in that redemption through the perfect sacrifice of His Son was His plan “…from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8; Matthew 25:34; Ephesians 1:4). God forgot nothing, but rather was prepared for man’s sin before it even became a reality.
There is no contradiction.
